ippi

Ippi is a communication product connected to your tv enabling elderly users to communicate easily with their family members and care takers using the tv screen to send and receive MMS.

My collaboration with In View AB started in 2004 during my thesis work when I, together with my thesis partner, was in charge of design and user research to develop the interface of the ippi (at the time ‘Message Viewer’). Until 2006 we helped In View develop the design and perform usability studies. The final design was done by the design firm Ocean Observations using findings from our field testings, user research, and the design proposals we created.

The user profiles included people with cognitive disabilities, as well as elderly with varying motorical and cognitive disabilities. We collaborated with several organisations and instances including The Swedish Association for Survivors of Accident and Injury, various healthcare instances in the city of Stockholm, and health care expertise.
